Fortunately, most neck and back conditions can be treated without surgery. Physical therapy, medications, injections and/or exercise are often sufficient to relieve pain and improve function making surgery unnecessary. However, some conditions may not respond to nonsurgical treatment and surgery may be indicated. For some conditions, surgery is the only effective treatment. At Mountain Pain and Spine, we take a conservative approach and try nonsurgical treatments whenever possible. For those conditions that do not respond to nonsurgical care, we offer a wide spectrum of surgical options. We have found that smaller and less invasive surgeries often provide better outcomes and quicker recovery, but we tailor the surgical intervention to your particular problem.
